GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mi (WPBN/WGTU)– The Grand Traverse County Health Department is issuing a public health advisory after an accidental release of an estimated 3,000 gallons of untreated sewage from a 12” sewer main.
The Health Department says the accidental release happened around 2 p.m. Saturday near Cedar Street on the west end of Traverse City.
As a precautionary measure, the Health Department is advising the public against any body contact of the waters in the following areas:
Clinch Park Beach
Sunset Park Beach
Bryant Park Beach
Traverse City Senior Center Beach
Kids Creek near Cedar Street to the Boardman River
Boardman river near wadsworth Street to the mouth of the West Grand Traverse Bay
