Matt Carara from Simms shares his time spent fishing in Michigan for steelhead. Matt says he fished a few times up in . Matt says, ” I highly recommend Baldwin on the Pere Marquette – gorgeous river, tons of fish and plenty of public access. They aren’t huge fish, and seem to range from 4-10 pounds, but they are acrobatic and eat swung flies almost as well as nymphs. It’s a pretty unique experience just to be on the river, and fish numbers are high pretty much all Fall and Spring”.
Here’s a steelhead from April of this year on the Pere Marquette. A pretty standard fish, right around 28” and chrome.
Nice work Matt!
