New Bonefish Hot Spot – San Francisco Bay

A bonefish was caught on the mud flats just off Sausalito, California! The San Francisco Bay is not often thought of as a saltwater destination, and for good reason. The water is cold, murky and has a long history of pollution, three things bonefish tend not to enjoy. Still, a bonefish was caught in the bay and is currently in the collection at the California Academy of Science and we have talked directly to a scientist who confirmed both the catch and the species.

Sadly, this fish was caught around 1914 and no bonefish has been caught in the SF Bay since. This is a true story, which makes it all the better for an April Fools joke.
