For more than 10 years, fly anglers, sportsmen, sportswomen, and conservationists in Uinta County have enjoyed the Upper Bear River Trout Unlimited fundraising banquet. Monies raised have been used locally to improve habitat, cut a fish ladder into an Evanston diversion dam that opened up 60 river miles to spawning fish, stop fish migration into the Booth irrigation ditch to save a valuable resource, and sponsor, every June, Kids’ Fishing Day at the Bear Ponds, to name just a few projects. UBRTU has provided donations to Reel Recovery (men with cancer), Casting for Recovery (women with breast cancer), Project Healing Waters (veterans with PTSD) and other worthy organizations incorporating fly fishing into their programs. UBRTU members have always been busy in the community.
