Fly Fisherman magazine publisher and editor Ross Purnell joined me on my radio show last Saturday to share an epic journey he undertook to help save a dying breed of fish. Purnell visited Mongolia in search of the fly-fishing experience of a lifetime and the giant, freshwater salmonid species known as Taimen. Along the way, Purnell documented his journey so he could call attention to the plight of the giant trout-like fish that faces potential extinction because of overfishing, toxic mining practices and other development.
