OmniVision just announced it’s OV14825 image sensor for mobile phones today. It’s a 14.6 megapixel device with the ability to also shoot 1080p video at 60 frames per second. Currently, OmniVision sensors power the 3.2MP cameras in the latest BlackBerry Curve and Storm devices as well as the Apple iPhone 3GS. If you are in the market for a new phone we recommend waiting until the second quarter of 2010 when the 14.6 megapixel sensors will be in productions.
