it’s true shark populations are imperiled worldwide, but sustainable shark sportfisheries are not impossible. the cause of shark endangerment is not sportfishing, but commercial overharvest and shark finning practices.
i believe sportfishing engenders conservation, whether we’re talking about trout or sharks. i’ve caught and released many sharks, and appreciate them more for it. Bar-b-qued shark steaks can be delicious too!
